Casco Bay Girls Travel

 

Casco Bay Girls travel hockey provides female youth hockey players the opportunity to play highly competitive hockey with one of the largest girl’s programs in Northern New England. The focus of our program is individual skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.  We provide excellent coaching for instructing a better understanding of the game of hockey and a challenging and rewarding environment for the girls to reach their hockey potential.

U16 and U19 Travel Teams

Casco Bay will be offering both a U16 Tier II and U19 Tier II travel teams for the 2019-20 season.

Evaluations for these teams will be held together on:

Wednesday March 20th NYA 7:50pm-8:50pm (*Please note time has changed*)

Friday March 22nd NYA  6:40pm-8:00pm (*Please note change of time & date*)

Teams will be selected with 15-17 skaters and 1-3 goalies per team.

 

U19 Tier II

The team will begin in the first week of September with 1 weekday night practice and 1-2 games on Sundays for 10 weeks ending the first week of November.  

The U19 team will play 10-12 games in the NEGHL with home and away games on Sundays. They will compete in the MeAHA U19 Tier II league and compete for the Maine Tier II State Championship.

There is a target of 20-22 games and 12-15 practices.

Additionally, the team plans to compete in a Holiday Tournament, such as the Middlesex Islanders Holiday tournament in Lowell, Ma or the Ct Polar Bears Tournament in Connecticut.

This team is open to girls with birth years 2001-2002 or for those with birth years in 2003-04 wishing to play up and who evaluate in the top ½ of the evaluation based on ranked scores.

Estimated Cost will be $900.00 including Tournament fee, Jersey, and socks. Players selected for the team will be notified within 72 hours of the completion of the evaluations via posting to the Casco Bay Girls hockey website by evaluation pullover color and number. They will also be contacted through email or phone call from the team coach. Players accepting their spot on the team will be required to pay a $350.00 non-refundable deposit fee by April 1st and agree to pay the remaining tuition fee by August 1st.

 

U16 Tier II

The team will begin in the first week of September with 1 weekday night practice and 1-2 games on Sundays for 9 weeks ending the first week of November.  

The U16 team will play in the MeAHA U16 Tier II league and compete for the Maine U16 Tier II State Championship. The remainder of the games will consist of home and away games with teams in the NEGHL and other U16 teams from Maine and NH.

There is a target of 20-22 games and 14-15 practices.

Additionally, the team plans to compete in a Holiday Tournament, such as the Middlesex Islanders Holiday tournament in Lowell, Mass. or the Ct. Polar Bears Christmas tournament in Connecticut.

Coaches will be selected by the Casco Bay Girls Hockey Director, Coaching Director and President.

This team is open for evaluation to girls with birth years 2003-04 or for those with birth year 2005 entering High School that wish to play up on a split season team. 2005 Birth year players must evaluate into the top ½ of the team based on the ranked scores.

Estimated cost will be $900.00 including Tournament fee, jersey, and socks. Players selected for the team will be notified within 72 hours of the completion of the evaluations via posting to the Casco Bay Girls hockey website by evaluation pullover color and number. They will also be contacted through email or phone call from the team coach. Players accepting their spot on the team will be required to pay a $350.00 non-refundable deposit fee by April 1st and agree to pay the remaining tuition fee by August 1st.

 

U14 Travel Team

Casco Bay will be offering a U14 Tier II team for 2019-20.

Evaluations for this team will be held on:

Monday March 18th TIA 7:20pm-8:40pm (*Please note change of time, date & location*)

Wednesday March 20th  NYA 6:20pm–7:20pm (*Please note change of time*)

The team will be selected with 13-15 skaters and 1-2 goalies. Players selected for the team will be notified within 72 hours of the completion of the evaluations via posting to the Casco Bay Girls hockey website by evaluation pullover color and number. They will also be contacted through email or phone call from the team coach. Players accepting their spot on the team will be required to pay a $350.00 non-refundable deposit fee by April 1st and agree to pay the remaining tuition fee in the Fall.

Coaches will be selected by the Casco Bay Girls Travel Director, Coaching Director, and Casco Bay President.

 

U14 Tier II

The team will begin in the first week of September, with 2 weekday night practices and 1 additional skills session every other week, for a target of 60-65 practices.  The target is for 45-50 games with 1-2 games on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of February.

The team will also be doing off-ice training 3-4 times a month with a certified athletic trainer to work on core strength and improve overall athletic conditioning.

The team will compete in the MeAHA U14 Tier II league and compete for the Maine U14 Tier II State Championship.  They will also play in the NEGHL Fall and Winter season for 25-30 games. The remainder of the games will consist of home and away games with other top competitive Tier I and Tier II U14 teams from Maine, VT, NH and Mass. 

Additionally, the team plans to compete in the 2 high level tier I-II tournaments such as the top level of the Cape Cod Thanksgiving Classic, The Middlesex islanders Holiday Tournament and Casco Bay Icicle Invitational.

The focus for this team is to create a highly competitive National Bound Tier II team, with an emphasis on skill development, promoting a better understanding of the game of hockey, and preparing the girls for competitive High School Hockey.

This team is open to girls with birth years 2005-2006.

Estimated Cost will be $1600.00 including tournaments, jersey, pants, and socks.

 

U12 Travel Teams

Casco Bay will be offering U12 Tier 2 and 1 or 2 U12 Tier 4 teams for the 2019-20 season.

Evaluations for the U12 Tier 2 team will be on:

Monday March 18th NYA 6:40pm-7:40pm

Wednesday March 20th NYA 5:10pm-6:10pm (*Please note change of time and date*)

Teams will be selected with 13-17 skaters and 1-2 goalies per team. Players will be evaluated on their skating (forward, backward, agility), Stick Skills (passing shooting and stick handling), and hockey game skills (offensive play, defensive play and hockey sense).  The Evaluators will consist of current and past Casco Bay coaches as well as high school coaches and others with proven hockey credibility with little to no knowledge of the players being evaluated.

The top 13-17 skaters and 1-2 goalies based on evaluator scoring rankings will be offered spots on the U12 Tier II team and the remaining players will be offered spots on the U12 Tier IV. Pending the difference in scores and drop off discretion may be used to limit the roster size to less than 15 skaters. Players selected for the U12 Tier II team will be notified within 72 hours of the completion of the evaluations via posting to the Casco Bay Girls hockey website by evaluation pullover color and number. They will also be contacted through email or phone call from the team coach. Players accepting their spot on the team will be required to pay a $350.00 non-refundable deposit fee by April 1st and agree to pay the remaining tuition fee in the Fall.

*Players do not need to attend the evaluation to be placed on the U12 Tier IV team however they are encouraged to come out and skate.*

Coaches will be selected by the Casco Bay Girls Travel Director, Coaching Director, and President.

 

U12  Tier II

The team will begin in the first week of October, with 2 weekday night practices and 1 additional position specific skill session every other week, for a target of 50-55 practices.  The target is for 40-45 games with 1-2 games on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of February.

The team will play in the MeAHA U12 Girls League and compete for the Girls U12 Tier II MeAHA State Championship. 

They will also play in the NEGHL for 18-20 games. The remainder of the games will consist of home and away games with other top competitive Tier I and Tier II U12 teams from NH, VT, and Mass. 

Additionally, the team plans to compete in 2 high level Tier I/II tournaments during the season.

The team will also be doing off-ice training 2-3 times a month with a certified athletic trainer to work on core strength and improve overall athletic conditioning.

The focus for this team is to build a highly competitive Tier II team with an emphasis on skill development and team play at the U12 level.

This team is open to girls with birth years 2007-2008.

Estimated Cost will be $1400.00 including tournaments, pants, jerseys and socks.

 

U12 Tier IV

The team will begin in late October, with 2 weekday night practices for a target of 40+ practices.  The target is for 25 games with 1-2 games on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of February.

The team will play games both home and away games with other competitive U12 teams from Maine, NH and Mass. As well as games against Maine co-ed U10 T4 teams.

Additionally, the team plans to compete in 1 tournament during the year.

The focus for this team will be on individual skill development and understanding team play.

This team is open to girls with birth years 2007-2010.

Estimated Cost will be $950.00 including tournaments, jerseys and socks.

 

U10 Tier 2 Travel Team

Casco Bay will be offering a U10 Tier 2 team for the 2019-20 season.

Evaluations for the U10 Tier 2 team will be on:

Monday March 18th NYA 5:30pm-6:30pm

Friday March 22nd NYA 5:30pm-6:30pm

The Team will be selected with 13-17 skaters and 1-2 goalies. The U10 Tier 2 team will begin in the late October, with 2 weekday night practices for a target of 45 + practices.  The target is for 30+ games with 1-2 games on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of February.

The team will play games both home and away games with other competitive U10 and U12 teams from Maine, NH and Mass. As well as games against Maine coed U10 T3 and T4 teams.

Additionally, the team plans to compete in 1-2 tournaments during the year.

The focus for this team will be on individual skill development and understanding team play. There will be more traveling involved than with traditional Tier IV team but the plan is play as many local games as possible.

This team is open to girls with birth years 2009-2010.
